Innovative surface designs for household appliances

Smart homes are becoming increasingly popular: refrigerators, cookers and washing machines are becoming increasingly intelligent, offering more functions - and the design of the appliances is adapting accordingly.

Smooth, futuristic plastic surfaces hide control panels with touch and gesture functions, and intuitively controlled applications characterize the household appliances of the future.

Knowledge for the development of the latest product generations

Leonhard Kurz predicts which trends and developments will prevail in the coming years. The company, which specializes in thin-film technology and stamping processes, has already received several awards for its innovative solutions. Kurz is now sharing its know-how with representatives of the plastics industry in online seminars.

Designs that impress customers and consumers

In the seminar “How to upgrade your striking brands with pioneering surface decorations” on 6/29/2021, Steven Hirschberg, Key Account Manager Home Appliances, and Raimund Fritsch, Market Development Manager/Hotstamping at Kurz, demonstrate the many possibilities for innovative surface designs. The focus is on KURZ IMD UNIFY - the solution for customizing special models in series production - and IMD single images for the design of seamless surfaces and device fronts. The speakers will also focus on the topic of human-machine interfaces. The focus here is on displays and Shy Tech control elements for household appliances.

Trend: antibacterial surfaces

In recent months in particular, one question has been asked more and more frequently, which will continue to dominate many areas in the future, not least household appliances: How can antibacterial surfaces be designed? Steven Hirschberg and Raimund Fritsch have the answer and will introduce KURZ BIOFENSE - the solution for antibacterial surface finishing without compromising on design.

Sustainability in the plastics sector

Household appliances can be smart, as well as sustainable. This topic will also be addressed in the seminar “How to upgrade your striking brands with pioneering surface decorations”.

In addition, Kurz will be offering another online event on May 26, 2021, focusing on “Design for Recycling”: Johannes Romming, Project Manager Innovation & Sustainability at Kurz, will be presenting innovative processes and possibilities for the use of recyclates in the seminar “Taking responsibility - our sustainability innovations as your competitive advantage for plastic decoration”.

Expand your knowledge about design and finishing of the household appliances of the future and exchange ideas with the experts from Kurz! Following the seminars, the speakers will be available for questions in a Q&A round. Further information and registration can be found on the Kurz seminar registration page.
