Hospital bedside cabinet

A rotational mould developed by Persico, based in Nembro (near Bergamo, Italy), has been used to manufacture a new hospital bedside cabinet in recyclable polyethylene from Bristol Maid, an UK supplier of medical and health equipment. Designed by the British company Kinnair Dufort, the bedside cabinet has received the Horner's Award for Plastics 2010 and the Plastics Industry Award 2010, both sponsored by BPF (British Plastics Federation), as the best product of the year. The rotational moulding technology, which enables the production of hollow bodies as single jointless components, is an ideal option in terms of hygiene, making it possible to manufacture medical products that not only have a modern design but are also free of seams and junctions which are difficult to clean and where dirt may lurk.
