The 18th Düsseldorf fair for the plastics and rubber industry, K 2010, opened on October 27 and will run through November 3.
This year the German fair has aroused the interest and gained the organisational commitment of raw material producers, machinery manufacturers and plastics processors from all over the world, making the organiser, Messe Düsseldorf, more and more optimistic about the outcome of the show.
More than 3,100 exhibitors (close to levels recorded in 2007, long before the financial crisis) from more than 57 countries are presenting their latest innovations and products in an exhibition space of over 164,000 sqm.
Expectations are high for the 2010 event. Exhibitors and visitors alike trust that this year will mark a turnaround after the two-year recession that has hurt, without exception, every country and every industrial sector.
After Germany (with 1,117 exhibiting companies in 65,700 sqm of exhibition space), Italy, as usual, holds the biggest share of exhibitors: 416 Italian companies are presenting their products in 27,500 square metres. Three hundred of the Italian companies are machinery and equipment manufacturers (117 of them are Assocomaplast members occupying a net area of some 14,500 sqm).
