Flexography for packaging film

A major Russian industrial group has recently commissioned Filippini & Paganini (a division of Saldoflex) to build a Flexol unit for 6-colour flexographic printing on packaging film having a width of 2000 mm. Operating in-line with the film extrusion plant, the unit is equipped with all the latest features: sealed chamber doctor blade and ceramic cylinders, direct on-machine stereotype sleeve changeover, remote web-based diagnostics.
In addition to the Flexol range for inline printing (with extruders, welders, rewinding/cutting machines, sizing machines, etc.) in up to 8 colours on films of width varying from 600 to 3200 mm, the company also produces and markets the Compact Flexol and Superflexol lines of flexographic printers for reel-to-reel printing. The former are suitable for low or mid-sized jobs in 4-6 colours on films with widths from 800 to 1000 mm, while the latter is designed for higher output in 4, 6, or 8 colours on film widths from 800 to 1600 mm.
