Flexographic printers in South America
Apart from the huge Brazilian market, where sector foreign trade has a dimension and an evolution proportioned to the size of the processing industry, all the main South American countries recorded a healthy general recovery in plastics and rubber machinery imports in 2010 versus 2009. But the purchases of flexographic printing machines was particularly strong. Although total values were not so remarkable, such equipment is gaining share, now accounting for 10% of total imports of machinery and auxiliaries. Italy is providing a considerable portion: more than half of the flexographic printers imported by Argentina were Italian, for example, one third for Chile, 25% for Colombia and 10% for Venezuela and Peru.
