Ferrari and Constante appointed to work with president Thomas
The president of PlasticsEurope, Patrick Thomas, CEO for Covestro, will be joined by Daniele Ferrari (left, in the photo) and Javier Constante, newly appointed as vice presidents of the European Association of Plastics Manufacturers. "We are delighted that both have accepted their appointments as new vice presidents of PlasticsEurope. Their experience and long-term commitments are an important asset for all members and essential to ensure a strong alignment," said Thomas.
“I am very excited to take this new responsibility and further develop the association on the business challenges we have ahead, with a common vision,” said Daniele Ferrari, CEO of Versalis and Chairman of Matrica, a joint venture between Novamont and Versalis for green chemistry, president of PlasticEurope Italy, vice president of Federchimica, and board member of Cefic. With over 25 years of experience in the chemical industry, Ferrari has held positions in various companies. He held several positions within Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) Intermediates and Fluorocarbons in the UK, and Polyurethane in Brussels. He has also served in the capacity of CEO for Huntsman Surface Science Italia and president of Huntsman Performance Products in Houston, Texas. Under his leadership, in 2012, Versalis has started a strategic move through the repositioning of its asset base, the portfolio refocusing on higher value-added products and a strengthening exposure to global markets.

PlasticsEurope has a more than ever crucial role to play in helping the plastics industry to respond to today’s challenging societal issues,” said Constante vice president sales for the Packaging and Specialty Plastics Business of The Dow Chemical Company, and member of the board of directors of Equate/Tkoc and EMC and a member of the PlasticsEurope steering board. He joined Dow in 1989 in Buenos Aires, and worked in various leadership positions across sales and marketing, serving a variety of businesses in Latin America and Europe. Central to Constante’s policy is collaborating with all value chain partners and develop better and more sustainable packaging.
