BPA risks politicised?

The issue of hazards of Bisphenol A (BPA) seems likely politicised - according to the view of the British Plastics Federation (BPF), which stands for the use of the substance in food packaging. The position was taken after April 8, when The Independent newspaper published a letter from a group of scientists calling for UK ban on BPA in any baby bottle and food packaging for kids. The letter emphasise the lack of commitment by the authorities to stimulate the use of alternative plastics to safeguard the public health.
BPF believes that BPA effects on health would have been exaggerated by the media in recent weeks, seen that any possible risk which could come from the substance has been thoroughly examined and excluded by the European Union.
