Borouge inaugurated plant in China
Borouge inaugurated its first manufacturing plant in China at a ceremony held at the plant in Shanghai on April 20. The new plant is designed to provide innovative plastics solutions to the rapidly growing local household appliances and automotive (bumpers, body panels, dashboards, door claddings etc.) industries in the region. The plant has the capacity to supply up to 50,000 tons of compounded resins annually and the potential to expand by 30,000 tons per year in the future. This is Borouge's first investment in production facilities outside of the United Arab Emirates, and together with the significant investments the company is making in Abu Dhabi, reinforces its commitment to grow in the Chinese and other Asian markets. In Abu Dhabi, Borouge is currently expanding its petrochemical complex from 600,000 to 4.5 million tons of polyolefins per year by the end of 2013.
