At GreenPlast 2025, Gefran is presenting its most advanced technologies for process automation and control, with a particular focus on G-Mation P6 and data valorisation  key assets for enhancing efficiency and sustainability in plastics processing plants.

In the plastics sector, the company based in Provaglio d’Iseo (Brescia, Italy) offers a portfolio tailored to the specific needs of those operating in extrusion, injection moulding and blow moulding. By combining high-performance sensors, automation components, and digital solutions within a modular and scalable ecosystem, Gefran’s approach aims to improve energy efficiency, ensure maximum process reliability, and contribute to environmental sustainability.

The centrepiece of Gefran’s offering at GreenPlast 2025 is the G-Mation P6, the core of a new automation platform designed to deliver performance, flexibility and connectivity in a single in-panel device. The P6 PLC combines process control capabilities with edge computing functions, supporting EtherCAT topologies and advanced protocols such as MQTT, OPC UA and Euromap, which are crucial for secure and standardised machine-to-system communication. G-Mation P6 also supports Docker architecture for the deployment of new functionalities—whether on newly manufactured machines or those already installed in the field. Dockerised applications enable features such as secure VPN connectivity, machine diagnostics, and performance analysis.

Following its investment in 40Factory, an Italian scale-up specialised in industrial software solutions, Gefran has entered a new chapter in industrial data valorisation. This strategic partnership has expanded Gefran’s offering with cutting-edge digital tools that turn machine-generated data into real business value.

At the core of this expanded offering are two key solutions: MAX (Machine Analytics eXpert) is an industrial IoT platform designed to monitor machine performance in real time and provide actionable insights to improve operational efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and anticipate faults through predictive maintenance algorithms; GAIA (Gefran Artificial Intelligence Assistant), is a generative AI-powered virtual assistant that supports operators and production managers with contextualised, intelligent, and timely information, helping to optimise daily plant operations.

“Today, extracting value from data means having a solid and intelligent infrastructure that can collect, process and deliver it in a useful and timely manner,” said Renzo Privitera, Gefran’s Sales Director for Italy. “G-Mation P6 is the technological core of this infrastructure: thanks to its edge computing capabilities and compatibility with major industrial communication standards, it enables the construction of flexible, secure and interoperable digital architectures. Building on this foundation, solutions like MAX and GAIA amplify the value of collected data, providing advanced tools for smart monitoring, predictive maintenance and virtual assistance – supporting a more efficient and sustainable industry.”
