Autodesk makes its debut in 3D printing

During Plast 2015 Autodesk addressed the main issues related to the changes and developments taking place in the manufacturing sector. Thus there was discussion of the opportunities deriving from additive manufacturing and advanced materials and, in particular, the event provided the stage for the Italian debut of the 3D Ember printer, a point of reference for the implementation of the Spark software platform. This open and free platform for 3D printing connects digital information and printers in innovative ways, linking up with all types hardware and using any type of material.

The US manufacturer also unveiled its line of software for the manufacturing sector, offering visitors the opportunity to experience, first hand, the design, 3D design, simulation, visualisation and real-time rendering solutions it offers, namely: Moldflow, Nastran, Alias, Vred, Product Design Suite, as well as the Delcam solutions.

Delcam, a company acquired by Autodesk in 2014, is one of the world’s leading suppliers of advanced CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) software for the manufacturing market.

Also represented at the stand was the company Lenovo, through its new line of series P workstations, equipped with 24- and 30-inch monitors, which were used for demonstrating all the Autodesk solutions on display; in addition to the ThinkPad W550s portable workstation, there was a powerful and versatile ultrabook, also part of the award-winning ThinkPad line.
