Synbra Group awarded with the Cradle-to-Cradle certification from EPEA

BioFoam, a foamed product made from PLA developed by the Dutch company Synbra Group, is the first product in its kind to receive the certification from EPEA (Environmental Protection and Encouragement Agency), international scientific research and consultancy agency based in Hamburg that improves product quality, utility and environmental performance via eco-effectiveness. Synbra, operating in Europe in the field of EPS sustainable insulation systems and industrial solutions for various markets, is building in The Netherlands a new plant for the production of BioFoam, which will be positioned complementary to the production of polystyrene foam products offered today. The new plant, that should be fully operational by Summer 2010, will have a capacity of 5.000 tons per year. The company intends to take a leading position in Europe as supplier of degradable biopolymers from renewable sources.
