At the topof the exports
The trade association Assocomaplast has recently processed the official statistics for Italian imports and exports of plastics and rubber machinery. These data regard the January-September periods over the past three years and make it possible to highlight the main and the growing destination markets for sales abroad.
Italian exports to Brazil posted the highest growth, achieving a 29% increase year-on-year; however, the impact of the recent slowdown of the Brazilian economy still has to be evaluated.
Sales to China - a broad and growing market whose progress has not weakened, unlike Brazil - increased by 6% while those to India by only 2%.
Further down in the ranking is Slovenia, whose purchases from Italy topped 15 million euro in January-September 2010 after a twenty-point average uptrend over the three-year period. Double digit growth was also recorded for exports to Algeria and Japan.
