Five days for ten layers

Torninova will hold an open house from 30 June through 4 July focusing on its Coex Bubble 2.600 line for high speed, high productivity in-line co-extrusion of bubble wrap. The flat-head Coex Bubble machines are distinguished by three extruders for LDPE, adhesive and PA6, used to make co-extruded multilayer film with ABCBA + ABCBA structure.
The 10-layer structure integrates a low permeability PA6 barrier, ensuring prolonged retention of air within the bubbles, optimizing the impact absorption and protective performance even of relatively thin wraps. For example, such film having a weight of 35 grams per square metre offers the same performance as a single layer film weighing 60 g/sqm.
Particularly suited for the production of technical wraps, the Coex Bubble range features touchscreen controls for extrusion settings. Production speeds of 100 m/min may be achieved with film widths ranging from 1.25 to 3.5 metres and weights of 25-600 g/sqm.
