CMG at Plast transforms granulation into a competitive advantage

CMG Granulators will participate in Plast 2026 with a technological offering designed to meet the new demands of the industrial recycling market. In today’s plastics recycling landscape, characterized by increasingly heterogeneous post-consumer streams, the growing use of recycled materials and ever more demanding sustainability targets, granulation quality plays a strategic role throughout the entire production process.

For CMG, granulation is not simply an operational step, but a process capable of directly impacting productivity, operational continuity, recycled material quality and plant energy efficiency. This vision is now one of the brand’s main distinguishing features. In the industrial plastics recycling sector, not all regrind is created equal. Uniform regrind, free from dust and with consistent particle size distribution, allows companies to: reduce production waste; improve downstream process stability; optimize extrusion and processing conditions; increase overall plant efficiency; enhance the quality of the final recycled material. This concept is the foundation of CMG’s technological approach: transforming granulation into a concrete and measurable competitive advantage for customers.

CMG will showcase at the fair the EV 92-220 granulator, one of the most advanced models in the Evolution series, designed for high-intensity and complex recycling applications. The Evolution series represents the most innovative technological offering in CMG industrial granulators and integrates design solutions aimed at: high production capacity; reduced energy consumption; operational continuity; fast maintenance operations; superior regrind quality. Key advantages of the Evolution Series include: energy savings of up to 50% compared to traditional systems; high output with reduced dust generation; increased blade lifetime; blade replacement times reduced by 50%; uniform and homogeneous regrind; dedicated configurations for “dry” or “wet” recycling. Evolution Series granulators are also designed according to CMG’s distinctive tangential-cut and open-rotor configuration, which eliminates the material dragging effect typical of conventional systems, drastically reducing dust generation and improving regrind quality.

One of the core aspects of the CMG offering concerns energy efficiency applied to the granulation process. CMG granulators are engineered to optimize the ratio between production capacity and energy consumption, delivering high performance with significantly lower energy usage compared to conventional systems. The goal is not simply to supply a machine, but to design integrated solutions capable of interacting with the entire production plant, improving its OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), reducing downtime and optimizing the recovery of production scrap.
