High speed lamination without solvents

The Julia III Maxi is Bielloni Converting's new "solventless" laminator for polypropylene and rigid polyester. Able to laminate paper and aluminium too, it can reach an throughput of 400 m/minute using up to 1500 mm diameter reels.
The unwinders and rewinders are shaftless, have adjustable width and are fitted with a floor level, reel handling device. The laminating unit uses a sleeve system for speeding up coating width changes. The coating rollers changeover is carried out without the use of fork lifts, as the sleeves can be extracted using a cantilever system.
The coating and laminating units were designed to be housed alongside each other so that very thin film (or aluminium) can be applied to thick substrates without causing creasing or wrinkling and also provide a solution for tension adjustment issues. The machine is available in widths of up to 2200 mm.
