Mario Zorloni, one of the founders of the Novara-based company, has died
The Colines Holding and B-Pack Holding group has just suffered a very sad bereavement: Mario Zorloni, co-founder and, over the years, mainstay of these two industrial groups, has died. He is survived by his wife and two children, Marcello and Alessia.
“Mario Zorloni has passed away at the age of 76, following a terminal illness. He continued to play an active role in the company’s board as long as his illness allowed him to”, remarked CEO, Eraldo Peccetti.
Zorloni started his business in the plastic materials processing sector at the end of the 1960s, focusing on the commercial side. In 1973, together with Francesco Lombardini, who died in 2014, he founded Colines, which was based in Nibbia (Novara). Then, in 1976, they set up Colines Engineering, which two years later moved to its present headquarters in San Pietro Mosezzo (Novara).
Thereafter the group gradually expanded with the addition of facilities in Cameri (just outside Novara) - this is also the home of Elav, a company specialising in automation systems, which was taken over by Colines in 2008 - and in Azzate (Varese). Most recently, in March 2016, came the takeover of Torninova.
Mario Zorloni’s funeral took place on Friday November 4 at the cloister of San Nazzaro della Costa in Novara.
