Super-light and resistant thanks to carbon fibres

It is no longer necessary to choose between lightweight and durability. Both characteristics are now possible with the new Borealis plastomer-based compound Queo developed by Xenia Materials. The aim is to broaden the application field of this plastomer, currently used in a large number of areas due to its superb mechanical properties, outstanding resistance to low temperatures (-75°C) and chemical agents, its lightness (due to low specific weight) and remarkable processing capacity, which accents its versatile use and enabled its certification for food uses.
Xenia Materials, with the support of Borealis technicians, has allowed the company to "dignify" the plastomer Queo, combining its lightweight to the resistance and rigidity of carbon and the elasticity of aramid. This has given rise to a high performance and declinable composite adapted to the mechanical capacities required.
