Basf resumes the marketing of GPPS

The German colossus of chemistry will be offering again GPPS (general purpose polystyrene) on the European market from its production facility in Ludwigshafen.

As well as utilising it for its own needs - polystyrene is used for example for manufacturing Neopor and Styrodur - a sufficient quantity is now available following the expiry of contractual obligations for it to be supplied to customers.

“Basf was the first company to begin industrial manufacturing of polystyrene. This wealth of experience guarantees that we will be a reliable partner to our customers,” says Giorgio Greening, head of Basf’s global styrene foams business unit.

The range is focused on the well-known crystal-clear products polystyrene GPPS 158K and GPPS 168N.
