Trends in the decoration of consumer electronics

The requirements for consumer electronics products in terms of functionality and design are high.

Smartphones - our everyday companions - not only have to look sophisticated but must also be dirt-tolerant and resistant to scratches.

We expect the shiny metallic surfaces of our laptops to feel like brushed metal.

Last but not least, in the case of devices that we often have in our hands, we also want an anti-bacterial surface in addition to innovative functions.

Online seminars convey the knowledge of the future - today

The technologies that allow more and more freedom in the design of consumer electronics are constantly being optimized. Don't miss out on the innovations that will lead the way in the coming years!

Over the next few weeks, Leonhard Kurz will be holding a series of online seminars for the plastics industry. Experts in the field of decoration will present the latest techniques and provide practical tips.

Pioneering design methods for consumer electronics

In the seminar “Proven surface decoration processes creating irresistible customer experiences” on 6/15/2021, Nick Wagner, Head of Business Area Plastic Decoration Sales and Marketing, and Carsten Siebarth, Key Account Manager Notebook/Consumer Electronics, are targeting product developers and designers from the consumer electronics segment. Firstly, they will present highly efficient methods for the surface design of plastic surfaces, such as hot stamping or In-Mold Decoration (IMD).

They will also explain why indium is particularly suitable for 5G applications as an environmentally friendly metallization. The speakers will also be focusing on a topic that is becoming increasingly important, and not only in light of the current situation: How can surfaces be equipped with antibacterial or, in the future, antiviral properties? Procedures for the visual individualization of consumer electronics will also be presented as part of the seminar.

In addition to product and process innovations, Nick Wagner and Carsten Siebarth will also be addressing the topic of sustainability.

Following the presentation, the experts will be available to all participants for questions.

Sustainability in the plastics sector

Anyone who wants to find out more about “Design for Recycling” will have the perfect opportunity on 5/26/2021: In the seminar “Taking responsibility - our sustainability innovations as your competitive advantage for plastic decoration” Johannes Romming, Project Manager Innovation & Sustainability at Kurz, will present innovative processes and possibilities for the use of recyclates.

Be there when Kurz’s experts share their knowledge, talk to them and equip yourself with the know-how that will take your company to a new level in the coming years! Further information and registration for the seminars can be found on the Kurz seminar registration page.
