Totally bio-soap

The first compostable soap wrapping has been introduced by Umbria Olii International (Italy). The bio-film is based on Bio-Flex, a polylactic acid/copolyester compound produced in Germany by FKuR, and is used for packaging the Ecolive laundry soap, made from 100% natural olive oil. In order to emphasize their ecological commitment, Umbria Olii International searched for a wrapping film being made from natural resources and certified as biodegradable and, at the same time, chemically resistant. The high content of renewable resources and the appealing glossy surface along with the certified biodegradability were decisive for the choice of the multilayer bio-film supplied by the Italian companies Poligrafica Veneta, a producer of multilayer technical blown film, and Cartotecnica Veneta, dedicated to flexo and rotogravure printing.
