Saws for large-diameter, thick-walled pipes
With the new TRK/C 2500, joining the TRK/C 2000 and TRK/D 2000 models, Sica has extended its range of planetary saws for large-diameter, thick-wall HDPE pipes for pressurized fluid transport. The machine has been especially designed for in-line cutting of polyethylene pipe with diameters ranging from 710 to 2540 mm, with no chips or dust, thus eliminating need for collection and disposal of this scrap material, which is a typical problem for classic systems with toothed-wheel saws. The TRK/C 2500 saw uses a circular blade and is equipped with special systems to adjust operating conditions without sacrificing the benefits of energy savings and a compact work space. The new cutting process control allows the machine to perform precision cuts regardless of the condition of the pipe (ovality, uneven wall thickness, changes in temperature, etc.) and guarantees high quality cuts even in pipes with morphological defects. The machine is outfitted with universal pipe clamps that do not require adaptors or accessory groups for different pipe diameters. The clamps automatically adapt to pipe diameter and provide a constant grip to ensure optimal quality of cut. The hydraulic cutting arm provides optimum penetration force, while the saw movement is controlled electrically and automatically synchronized with the extrusion speed. Heavy-duty electromechanical supports, with automatic positioning on the basis of pipe diameter, firmly hold the pipes entering and leaving the machine.
