Italian technology in South America
The mission to Brazil to present Italian technology and involving eight manufacturers – Amut, Baruffaldi, Cms Industries, Geaf, Omb, Roto Plastic International, Sacmi, Uniloy Milacron – arrived in São Paulo on November 29 for an encounter with some 80 representatives of the Brazilian market and in Caxias do Sul on December 1, where they met with about 60 local companies, with whom they held numerous B2B meetings. The event was organized by Assocomaplast in cooperation with the former ICE-Italian Trade Commission and had the support of a number of Brazilian trade associations.
Again with the support of ICE, seminars were organized in Caracas and Lima, on November 29 and December 2 respectively, dealing with two distinct subjects: "injection moulding", introduced by an independent consultant appointed by Assocomaplast, and "post-consumer plastics recycling", by the Association's General Manager. There were over 80 participants in Venezuela and almost 90 in Peru, attesting to the great interest on the part of the local plastics processors for the high technology Italian industry can supply in these fields. The processing industry is growing both in Venezuela (despite local political troubles) and Peru, where the per-capita consumption of plastics is expected increase considerably in the upcoming years.
