Lorenzo Bottinelli re-elected president of Federchimica PlasticsEurope Italy

The board of directors of PlasticsEurope Italia, the Federchimica sector association that represents plastics manufacturers, unanimously confirmed the president Lorenzo Bottinelli (Basf) and the vice president Franco Meropiali (Versalis).

“The reconfirmation honours and encourages me to continue the work begun, with the support of the vice president and the members of the board of directors, at a time characterized by great transformations for the entire industrial system and, in particular, for that of plastic materials. We need commitment and collaboration between all the subjects involved, not only from the entire plastic production chain, but also a constant dialogue with institutions and public institutes. We must do everything is possible to enhance the role of plastic, highlighting how it is an indispensable solution, also for tackling the ecological transition”, Bottinelli declared.

Lorenzo Bottinelli, with a degree in chemistry from the University of Milan, an MBA from SDA Bocconi and twenty years of experience in the chemical industry, holds the position of CEO and vice president of Basf Italia. He is a member of the board of directors of Federchimica with responsibility for the circular economy and since 2017 he has been a member of the board of directors of PlasticsEurope Italia.
