Claudia Persico is the innovative entrepreneur of the year

The CEO and Rotational Director of Persico Group, Claudia Persico (center in the picture), won the 2022 edition of the GammaDonna Award, which since 2004 recognizes innovative female entrepreneurship. Confirming what was indicated in the Fifth Unioncamere Report on female entrepreneurship, according to which during the post-pandemic period it was the companies led by women that pushed more on digital (+14%) and green (+12%) investments, the GammaDonna Award aims to recognize the vision and courage of women who are at the helm of companies that invest in the future.

Technological neutrality, environmental sustainability and circular economy are the challenges of the multinational based in Bergamo, the constructor of Luna Rossa boats. The Persico Group, a family-owned business founded in 1976 as a small modelling shop which quickly became a renowned Italian multinational with headquarters in Nembro (Bergamo) and offices all over the world, is a manufacturer of moulds, presses, plants and high-tech solutions for different sectors in the plastics and advanced materials processing industry. Claudia Persico's last challenge concerns the green economy. The strong focus on sustainability has led the company to dramatically reduce consumption and to use renewable sources.

After the consecration in the nautical sector with the construction of Luna Rossa carbon boats for the last edition of the America's Cup, among the future goals of the Italian company there is the aerospace and urban mobility sectors. A further step forward in sustainability has been achieved with the recycling of waste materials, in the wake of the Persico Marine division which already uses composite scrap to make sanitary prostheses.
