Petcore Europe appoints new Executive Director
The European association of the PET supply chain, Petcore Europe, has appointed Martin Stephan as new Executive Director and Ermis Panagiotopoulos, who served as interim Executive Director since January 2023, as Deputy Director.
Martin Stephan spent his entire career in the chemical industry, in France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland, and has been more recently Deputy CEO of Carbios, a French clean-tech developing technologies for the end-of-life of plastics and fibres, including PET, and one of the founding members of Petcore Europe.
“We thank Ermis for taking on the role of Executive Director as interim in the last four months, and we wish him all the best in his role of Head Sustainability Advocacy Emea at Indorama Ventures. We welcome Martin Stephan, and we are convinced that his experience and competencies will be paramount to deliver on the mission of the association”, Antonello Ciotti, Chairman of Petcore Europe declared.
“I am very excited to join Petcore Europe, an association which grew very significantly during the last six years under the leadership of Christian Crepet. The PET industry is facing multiple challenges and can greatly contribute to meeting the EU sustainability goals thanks to the unique properties of PET, the world's most recycled plastic”, Martin Stephan said.
