High-level research activities for Industry 4.0 and sensors

Two scholarships, worth 80 thousand euros each, will be making available to the University of Brescia by Gefran to finance research degrees in the Industry 4.0 and IoT fields and the predictive maintenance of sensors.

In fact, Gefran has signed an agreement with the Engineering Faculty of the University of Brescia, intended to support the research activities of the Information Engineering Department. The agreement envisages the financing of two scholarships that will cover the entire degree study course (three years).

The programmes will cover Industry 4.0 and IoT, and the development of predictive algorithms capable of detecting the metrological state of sensors. The objective is the insertion of professional figures with specific internally developed skills for the development of innovative industrial research projects.

“The fields of research proposed by Gefran are strategic for the development of the Smart Factory. The collaboration with companies that, like Gefran, are already ahead in terms of innovation, is crucial both for the development of applied research and for the training of high-level professionals, befitting of the new industrial paradigms”, commented Emilio Sardini, director of the Information Engineering Department of the University of Brescia.

Gefran’s agreement with the University of Brescia is part of a wider investment project intended to deliver highly skilled scientific qualifications. The programme will not end when the study course concludes: in fact, the new graduates will be inserted into the FLY, Gefran’s Talent Academy, where they will continue their activity by means of a training scheme that will include the possibility of a master’s degree, dedicated coaching and an international mobility scheme.
