Electronic searching throat system

An electronic searching throat system for in-line cutting of corrugated pipe on the extrusion line has recently been developed by Sica. This cutting operation traditionally requires complex machinery design to cut the pipe either in the centre of a groove or at the bell or spigot (if present). The new system requires no additional mechanical accessories for corrugated pipe pick-up, reducing machine configuration time during format change and optimizing process control.
