Delabeling and dry preprocessing

Flexibility and high reliability: these are the characteristics that have always distinguished Sorema plants and equipment. And they are fully in evidence with the new delabeler, designed to remove sleeve labels (labels that wrap completely around the bottle) in post-consumer PET bottle washing lines. Previewed at K 2013 in Düsseldorf, the highly flexible system can be installed on any recycling line with production capacity in the range of 600-12,000 kg/h. It also features reduced energy consumption, and the ready availability of spare parts makes maintenance both simple and economical.
The machine can also be used for dry preprocessing of mixed bottles or rigid packaging, taking advantage of its ability to separate out contaminants. It may also be paired with an air classifier for effective and efficient removal of the lighter fractions.
The result of long and painstaking research and development, including approximately two years of industrial testing conducted by Sorema at its facilities on representative samples from Europe, Japan, the United States, the Middle East and the Far East, the machine was recently installed at a recycling plant in the United States, where it performed in large-scale operations at the top of its class for the removal of sleeve labels, with minimal material loss.
