Memorandum of understanding for waste-to-chemicals

Maire Tecnimont announced that NextChem, through its subsidiary MyRechemical, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Suez International Italian Branch aimed at further developing their existing collaboration on waste-to-chemicals projects in Italy. The agreement was signed during Ecomondo 2022. NextChem and Suez are already successfully collaborating on various projects and feasibility studies in Italy, among which the waste-to-methanol and hydrogen project in Empoli (Italy), which is based on NextChem’s waste-to-chemicals technology.

This agreement will set the basis for the possible participation of Suez as an industrial player and as a potential investing partner in other NextChem’s waste-to-chemicals projects in Italy, leveraging on NextChem’s technological expertise and Suez’s global leadership in waste and water management.

Alessandro Bernini, Chief Executive Officer of Maire Tecnimont Group and NextChem: “We are glad that our waste-to-chemicals technology has been acknowledged by a world player such as Suez. This agreement confirms the reliability of our sustainable technological value proposition, as Maire Tecnimont Group is increasingly playing a strategic and relevant role in advancing circular economy in Italy and abroad, thanks to our unparalleled skills and competence".
