Bull’s-eye on extrusion blow moulding solutions

Alphamac is one of IMA Group’s latest acquisition. The company was established in 2019 with the mission to design and manufacture state-of-the-art equipment for extrusion blow moulding (EBM), and end of line solutions. Born of a team of professionals with several decades of experience in the field, its goal is to pair innovative developments with consolidated technologies, guaranteeing highly reliable and efficient machines. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic in 2020, IMA Alphamac has been experiencing impressive growth and development since its inception.

With a diverse portfolio of customers across multiple industries including food, personal & home care, pharmaceutical and industrial, IMA Alphamac has already established a strong reputation for delivering high-quality solutions tailored to the specific needs of its clients. Together with its wide range of EBM machines with varying capacities, IMA Alphamac’s product range includes technologies to complete the packaging process, such as labelling, capping, bagging, palletizing etc. The built-in quality control systems make it possible to deliver products with zero defects to logistics and to better support the concept of circularity. IMA Alphamac’s equipment is 100% electric with automated solutions, guaranteeing significantly less energy consumption compared to traditional hydraulic machines. With a rational design which simplifies maintenance and handling by users, the technology incorporates the most advanced features in terms of performance and electricity usage. A milestone that confirms IMA Alphamac’s commitment to the pursuit of sustainable production processes and one that falls within the scope of the IMA LOW project - one of the four pillars of the Group’s sustainability program IMA ZERO.

As part of IMA Group, IMA Alphamac has been able to leverage the resources and expertise of the other companies within the Group to enhance its offerings and expand its reach. It has found synergies, particularly in the research & innovation and marketing & sales areas, which have helped to enhance its international visibility. Looking ahead, IMA Alphamac is poised for steady growth, with plans to continue to innovate with a focus on sustainability, automatization, and circularity.

Today’s must in the packaging industry is to keep pace with, if not actually anticipate, quickly changing market demands. It is therefore necessary to adopt new available digital technologies and develop new processes, so as to increase production efficiency and flexibility. In this field, IMA Alphamac has found a good ally in IMA Digital, the Group’s project for implementing 4.0 technology within production flows and for training operators with the most innovative digital tools, integrating technological know-how and new digital skills.

This, in brief, is IMA Alphamac: a small star in the IMA Group firmament.
