Sipa earns a silver medal for sustainability from EcoVadis
The world's largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, EcoVadis, has awarded PET rigid packaging production technology specialist Sipa a silver medal for the first time. An overall score of 64/100 puts Sipa in the 87th percentile in its sector, special purpose machinery. This is a notable improvement on the score that Sipa obtained just two years ago - the first time it applied for an EcoVadis rating - and is just three points short of a gold medal.
“Sipa puts a strong emphasis on environmental aspects of its products and its production systems, and this is reflected in our 2022 rating,” said Antonio Narder, General Manager. “We have a continuing process of improvement, and this assessment has provided new insights into how we can develop in this area - and indeed all areas of sustainability - still further.”
Narder paid tribute to the collective efforts of the Sipa workforce in achieving the enhanced level of sustainability recognized by EcoVadis. “We all have a strong commitment to make SIPA more successful, and we share a belief that success depends not only on offering products that perform at the highest level, but which are manufactured in the most sustainable way possible. This is something that our customers increasingly call for too”, he said.
