Ten-year agreement for Bandera and PTi
A strategic alliance has been signed by Bandera and the US company PTi (Processing Technology International) to supply complete extrusion lines for PLA and PET sheets without pre-drying in the NAFTA. The plants marketed under the agreement are based on the technology developed by the Italian company for PET extrusion without pre-drying and pre-crystallization it and on ancillaries from the American manufacturer. A line for a 1,200-kg hourly output and to process also filled PP will be installed at the PTi headquarters.
The 10-yaer agreement will enable the above mentioned extrusion technology to be further improved and, according to Bandera, really set the bases for other future cooperations with PTi. The two companies would actually already move in such a direction to jointly approach the recycling sector upstream the extrusion and, to study the feasibility of the project, the American company attended the Plastic Recycling Conference in Austin on March 2-3. At the end of March a meeting at Bandera headquarters in Busto Arsizio (Varese, Italy) is scheduled to finalize the joint development of film for geo-membranes as well as agricultural applications.
