Zero energy
A 23-ton clamping force and an 810-mm stroke make the UMS 230 Energia Zero machine, available in single or dual carriage version, the main model in the range of electric extrusion-blow moulding machines from Uniloy (www.uniloy.it), headquartered in Magenta, near Milan (Italy).
The machine can accommodate moulds with up to 10 cavities with centre distance of 75 mm, is arranged for coextrusion of up to 7 layers, has been designed for IML on both sides of the container and can produce containers from 100 ml to 5 litres. Product demoulding takes place on one side only of the machine, avoiding bulky conveyor pathway from both moulds.
The machine's electric servomotors recover energy during deceleration, which is particularly advantageous in cyclical movements with high accelerations and decelerations (like those of mould holder carriages), achieving energy savings of 28 to 40% compared to an equivalent hydraulic machine.
