Inner cooling

Tecnomatic, based in Azzano San Paolo (Bergamo, Italy), has developed a new generation of Venus extrusion heads for mono- and multi-layer PE and PP pipes. Such heads have been designed to use the PAC (Pipe Air Cooling) inner cooling system.
This system not only allows reduction of the cooling length and thus fewer tanks, but also brings a dramatic improvement of pipe quality, a reduction in energy consumption and the recovery of hot aspirated air.
Comparative tests on large diameter pipes with high thickness at an output of 850 kg/h have shown significant advantages deriving from the use of the PAC system: a reduction of pipe eccentricity and ovality of 26% and 40% respectively; and a 35% lower average temperature in the final pipe cutting section.
