Versalis in North America with CB&I
Versalis has signed a cooperation agreement with CB&I, the US-based engineering and industrial services company, which will market and provide engineering services for Versalis' low density polyethylene (LDPE) and ethyl vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) technologies in North America.
CB&I will be able to offer both tubular and autoclave high pressure processes, which will enhance the range of products at Versalis' LDPE and EVA plants and add a high-quality product mix capable of meeting any market needs. The Versalis LDPE and EVA technologies complement CB&I's olefins processes and polypropylene technologies, and, thanks to this new agreement, will be industrialized and enhanced in North America and Mexico.
"The marketing of our LDPE and EVA through our partnership with CB&I, by means of its significant presence in the petrochemicals market worldwide, has come to be part of the strategy Versalis to strengthen its positioning internationally. This agreement gives us the opportunity to enhance and expand our technological footprint along with our high standards of quality", said Daniele Ferrari, CEO of Versalis. LDPE and EVA are used to produce agricultural and stretchable film, packaging, cables, foams, hoses and are used for injection molding and extrusion coating.
