Optimism in Basf
On the occasion of its pre-K 2010 press conference held on June 22 in Frankenthal, aiming at presenting both development plans (started in the past years with investments in new Asian plants, restructuring steps in Europe and the acquisition of Ciba in 2009) and product range, Basf company leaders also focused on the market situation. The signals are certainly positive: in the first quarter of the current year sales increased by 50% compared to the same period in 2009, when the global plastics sales decreased by more than 20%. The German raw material producer is counting more and more on innovative solutions for specific applications. The use of Basf material on the "i-flow" prototype car, realized in close cooperation with Hyundai, is just an example.
