Lehmann&Voss distributes Mayzo's masterbatches
On the beginning of 2014, Mayzo and Lehmann&Voss agreed on joint marketing of the masterbatch for polypropylene process optimisation within Europe. "Thanks to the use of these additives, material weight savings of up to 15% and in addition reductions in cycle time of up to 25% can be achieved", explained Torsten Clasen, masterbatch team head and project manager for this product at Lehmann&Voss, adding: "And all of this with unchanged product quality and stability".
The additive batches of Mayzo intervene in the solidification properties of polypropylene, changing its crystallinity and as a result the characteristics of the finished product. The result is greatly enhanced toughness and flexibility with only a slight decrease in rigidity. At the same time a lower melting point is achieved, which has a positive effect on the ability to weld and form polypropylenes.
As a result, it is for example possible to produce very thin-walled and uniform, breathable films in the BOPP process. Additional foaming of the film through chemical or physical blowing agents can be dispensed with.
In Italy the products are distributed by the Italian subsidiary Lehvoss Italia.
