Hybrid blow mouldingfor PET containers
The single-station blow moulding machines based on the ISBM (Injection Stretch Blow Moulding) technology developed by Automa for the production of PET containers stand out mainly for their energy consumption levels (up to 50% lower than those of conventional systems), as well as for their high productivity and compact footprint. In this field, the company offers flexible solutions which meet the needs of converters in term of both machine configuration and container development. The hybrid technology, moreover, ensures very fast production cycles and quick changeovers.
These machines make it possible to obtain both small containers and bottles with narrow (diameters of less than 20 mm) and wider necks (diameters of between 20 and 48 mm), i.e. the kind used for beverages, personal care products, household detergents, etc., but also so-called large-mouth containers (mouth diameters greater than 53 mm) of the kind used for food (peanut butter, mayonnaise, sauce, and so on). The range of products which can be manufactured using different dyes and additives includes hot-filling bottles resistant to temperatures up to 90 °C for food and beverages, oval containers and containers with oriented necks.
One of the latest additions to this range of machines is the 150-ton, full-electric ISBM-AT150SR machine for producing large-mouth food containers. The same model can be used for applications requiring double-row moulds, particularly useful for manufacturing small bottles at low costs.
