Five layers for six days

An open house was held on April 4-9 at the CMG factory in Olgiate Olona, near Varese (Italy), to present an extrusion plant for 5-layer blown film with a width up to 2,800 mm. The main feature of the line, supplied to a foreign customer for the production of food packaging, is the extrusion head previewed at K 2010 in Düsseldorf. It ensures optimal material homogenization and distribution and, consequently, highly uniform thickness. Furthermore, the inner polyamide layer can be reduced to a minimum, thus making the film cheaper with the same performance.
