European projects at K 2010

Detailed information concerning five European Projects within the 7th Framework Programme are released at Assocomaplast's booth during K 2010 (Hall 16 A56).
The association, representing the Italian plastic and rubber machinery and moulds industry, brings its experience as coordinator of two of them: Ultrafibre, related to the development of a radial cell process for clean, continuous, high volume production by hydro-acoustic decortication of high quality natural fibres for the SME natural fibre sector (www.ultrafibre.org) and SafeRubber, dealing with a safer alternative replacement for thiourea-based accelerators in the production of chloroprene rubber (www.saferuber.eu).
Assocomaplast is participating in further projects: Rotoflex, an innovative rotomoulding development to improve cycle times and process efficiency while offering greater flexibility in product design and integrity for the SME rotomoulding sector (www.rotoflex-eu.org); Wheylayer, aimed at the development of whey protein-coated plastic film to replace expensive polymers and increase recyclability (www.wheylayer.eu); Start, focused on the development of a retrofitted dry-cleaning unit for agricultural film waste and interrelated web-based logistical software (http://start.uk-matri.org).
