Comerio Ercole amongst Pirelli's top suppliers

Comerio Ercole is one of the nine companies (four are Italian) that received, on April 16th, the Supplier Award 2014; this annual award is Pirelli's way of acknowledging, on the basis of objective selection criteria - such as sustainability, quality, level of service and innovation - the quality of  the work done by its suppliers. Comerio Ercole, manufacturer of systems for the processing of rubber and plastic, was honoured in the "Plants and equipment" category for its calendering plants and for the engineering services it supplied to two new Pirelli factories in Mexico and Indonesia.
In accordance with tradition, the tyre manufacturer received its suppliers on the race track at Vizzola Ticino (near Varese), so as to give them a chance to test the tyres it produces also thanks to their contribution. The purchasing department at Pirelli comprises 135 specialists worldwide, 40 of whom work at the company's headquarters in Milano Bicocca. Every year the department's specialists assess 12 thousand suppliers not only on the basis of direct criteria, but also through the self-assessments of other suppliers.
