The Plast 2026 conference programme
The organisers of Plast 2026 have announced the conference programme which, over the course of the exhibition, will bring together institutions, trade associations, research centres and operators across the plastics and rubber supply chain to discuss the most relevant issues affecting the industry. The events – open to exhibitors and visitors throughout all four days of the show – range from industrial competitiveness and sustainability to recycling, processing technologies, regulatory challenges and digitalisation.
Here is the schedule of events.
Tuesday 9 June
Plastics: public enemy or scapegoat?
14:30-16:30 – Conference Hall, Hall 24
In collaboration with Ipackima and Largo Consumo. The conference will provide an open forum for discussion on the changes affecting the packaging sector: from regulatory pressures to the opportunities of the circular economy, with an analysis of the perspective of large-scale retail operators.
Wednesday 10 June
The National Plastics Value Chain Summit – dialogue between institutions and industry on competitiveness and circularity
10:00-12:30 – Conference Hall, Hall 24
In collaboration with Amaplast, Corepla, IPPR, PlasticsEurope Italia-Federchimica, Unionplast and The European House Ambrosetti. The conference will foster dialogue between institutions and industry on the strategic role of the plastics supply chain within the Italian production system, and on the conditions needed to strengthen its competitiveness and circularity.
Mould temperature and product quality
14:30-15:30 – Conference Hall, Hall 24
In collaboration with TMP – Associazione Tecnici delle Materie Plastiche. The conference will focus on the relationship between mould temperature, conditioning and part quality, with particular attention to the effects on the properties of moulded components.
Thursday 11 June
Mechanical recycling of plastics – 2025 Report. Protection, to regenerate the system
10:00-13:00 – Conference Hall, Hall 24
In collaboration with Assorimap. This annual event, now in its fifth edition, will present updated national data on the production of secondary raw materials from post-consumer waste through to 2025, with a dedicated focus on regulations and guarantees for traceability, in support of the mechanical recycling sector.
Circularity and AI for the competitiveness of the rubber industry
10:00-12:00 – Exhibitor Arena, Hall 11
In collaboration with Assogomma. The rubber industry is facing a dual transition: towards more circular production models and towards processes increasingly driven by artificial intelligence. The event aims to bring together leading Italian academic research and industrial vision to explore how digital technologies and the sustainability of elastomeric materials can become concrete drivers of competitiveness.
Traceability and digital product passport: the “Plastic Second Life” case
14:30-16:00 – Exhibitor Arena, Hall 11
In collaboration with IPPR. The session will explore the opportunities offered by digital tools – such as blockchain and immutable registries – for traceability and data management within the framework of an accredited product certification scheme such as Plastica Seconda Vita.
Competing in plastics today: operational efficiency, compliance and supply chain digitalisation
14:30-16:00 – Conference Hall, Hall 24
In collaboration with Made Competence Center I4.0. The event will focus on digital and sustainable transformation, and the integration of factory technologies with decision-making systems. A dedicated session will also address the security of connected infrastructures and the new regulatory requirements associated with industrial digitalisation.
Friday 12 June
Plastics in construction: the PVC case
10:00-13:00 – Conference Hall, Hall 24
In collaboration with PVC Forum Italia. The programme will examine the role of PVC in the construction sector, with a focus on the market, application benefits, sustainability and the circular economy prospects of the supply chain.
Moreover, during the same days, in addition to the institutional conferences, a series of events organised by selected exhibitors will take place at the Exhibitor Arena, Hall 11. The detailed programme can be viewed here.
