Two days of open house at Bandera
The House of Extrusion, Bandera’s new R&D Centre in Busto Arsizio (near Varese), hosted an open house on 6 and 7 October to demonstrate operation of the BarrierFlex 7-layer line producing high-barrier film in polypropylene with a PP/Tie/PA/EVOH/PA/Tie/PP structure. The final application of the film is tomato ketchup pouches.
The line produces film with symmetrical and asymmetrical structures, flat net of 2200 mm, and thickness range of 35 to 200 micron. Output is 650 kg/hour for high barrier film, and reaching up to 900 kg/hour for lamination and printing film. The main features for the configuration include an 18-component dosing system, 7 extruders, 6 of which with 65 mm diameter and 1 with 50 mm diameter, 7-layer head EXPH 50/70 with installed die 500 mm in diameter, bubble cooling by IBC system and high performance multi-lip air ring, thickness measuring and automatic adjusting system, 2 bubble guiding cages and rotating take-off with carbon fiber rollers.
