All-Italian partnership for synthetic leathers

A producer of TPE- and TPU-based compounds based in Vicenza (Italy), API operates in the synthetic leather market with its Apilon 52 C range of aromatic thermoplastic polyurethanes for coagulation process, recently entered into an agreement with IMA, Mortara (near Pavia, Italy), a company operating in the field of chemical products for the production of synthetic leather, in order to extend its product range with the addition of specialties also suitable for finishing and coating technologies. The two partners will offer technical consultancy and support in relation to granules for coagulation (Apilon 52 C), finishing and coating, as well as for solution polymerisation processes. Doriano Baldi, the Product Mananger TPU & Textile Coating at API, has been appointed Technical and Sales Director of IMA and will continue to offer his support both for the Apilon 52 C coagulation range and for IMA's finishing and coating products.
