Work began on the injection moulding machines safety
The working group ISO/TC 270 - WG 1 met for the first time on May 14-15 in Frankfurt. Its program is the definition of an ISO standard on safety for injection moulding machines. The delegates of ten countries (Austria, China, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States) took part in the meeting, among which many production managers from leading manufacturers of injection moulding machines.
The Italian delegation, appointed by Assocomaplast, the Italian plastics and rubber processing machinery and moulds manufacturers' association, was represented by two consultants of the association (amongst them Claudio Celata, who chairs the Technical Committee ISO/TC 270) and an expert from BMB, representing the Italian manufacturers.
The standards currently into force in Europe (EN 201:2009), United States (ANSI/SPI B151.1-2007-R201X and B151.29-201X), Japan (JIMS K-1001:2008 and K-1002:2011) and China (GB 22530-2008) have been taken into consideration during the meeting. At next session, scheduled on December 11-13, 2013, still in Frankfurt, also the delegates of Brazil, Luxembourg/Canada, India will take part.
