More safe presses

CEN (European Committee for Standardization) has published the final version of EN 289:2014 concerning the safety requirements of compression and transfer moulding machines, which will come into force upon publication in the European Official Journal.
EN 289:2014 is one of the 18 European harmonized standards in force, published by CEN/TC 145, whose secretariat and presidency has been managed by Assocomaplast on behalf of UNI, since 1995.
In this regard, it should be noted that in December 2012 UNI activated a similar international technical committee - ISO/TC 270 - for the study of standards for plastics and rubber machinery and the Presidency is run by Assocomaplast. The first Working Group activated by ISO is the one on injection molding machines, which has already met three times and next meeting is scheduled on November 4-6, 2014.
