Less stressed products thanks to the gear pump
Founded in 2009 in Castel Guelfo, Bologna (Italy) by a group of experts - each with over ten years experience in the field of rubber compounds - Elastomers Union (stand A 37, hall 11, at the international exhibition Plast 2015) manufactures fluoroelastomer compounds (FKM) based on its own formulations and on its customers’ formulations in order to fit the specific needs of the clients, offering high quality compounds that meet strict specifications, with a highly competitive quality/price ratio.
Since 2012 Elastomers Union has focused on three important growth targets; this means investments in the laboratory for materials control, investments in the laboratory for new materials development and quality controls and investments in a second production line.
All the targets have been reached - the laboratories are now fully equipped with high performing equipment that allows Elastomers Union to test 100% of the batches, and the second production line is now fully operational - and the company is now able to offer a new product: the filtered compound.
Instead of a filter die, the company uses a gear pump to filter its polymers in order to obtain a less stressed product and to avoid the breaking of the filters, a very common event due to the high viscosity of the fluorinated polymer.
Thanks to this technology the company can filter its compounds down to a diameter of 0.11 mm for all those applications where high levels of purity are essential.
The winning strategy of Elastomers Union are the investments in R&D and the direct collaboration with its suppliers with the aim to always offer new and increasingly better products.
