Reinforced with clearer carbon fibre

The new Whitened Shade has been added by Xenia to its range of carbon fibre reinforced materials. It consists of a clearer colour base than the black version, making it easier to colour the material with masterbatch during injection moulding or 3D printing processes. The company will launch the new shade at the JEC World fair, scheduled to take place in Paris from 4 to 6 March.
Carbon-fibre reinforced thermoplastic composites are known for their strength, lightness and durability, proving crucial in sectors such as consumer goods, industrial applications and mobility. However, the natural black colour of carbon fibre combined with thermoplastic matrixes has always been a limit for applications where design plays a key role.
Xenia aimed at overcoming this limit with a solution that would enable carbon-fibre reinforced material formulations characterised by a lighter colour base. The result is a thermoplastic composite that not only guarantees excellent mechanical properties, but thanks to the new colour shade allows for colour customisation through the addition of masterbatch during both injection moulding and additive manufacturing processes. Whitened technology makes it possible to combine performance and design in a single solution, offering new opportunities in terms of customisation and versatility.
