An Experiential Approach Bridging Advanced Technologies and Sustainability

A content-rich and forward-looking preview was offered by Sabic during the pre-K 2025 conference organised by EMG in Rotterdam on 4-5 June. The Saudi multinational provided an early look at the key innovations and sustainable solutions it will officially unveil at the upcoming K 2025 trade fair in Düsseldorf.
The theme "Connecting to Everyday Life" presented by Michel Wintraecken, Director of the PE division in Europe, and Marco Dalmino, Commercial Director for Specialities in Europe, highlighted Sabic’s ambition to show how its solutions tangibly impact daily life – combining innovation, sustainability, performance and design across strategic sectors such as packaging, electronics, mobility, construction and healthcare.
Sabic also previewed its K 2025 stand concept: a multi-level structure centred around a symbolic “Tree of Life”, visually and conceptually linking the five key innovation areas. The stand will feature interactive zones, materials labs, and hospitality and meeting areas, creating a fully immersive experience. At the heart of the project will be two platforms central to Sabic’s sustainability strategy: TruCircle, showcasing solutions for mechanical and chemical recycling, the use of renewable feedstocks, and design for recycling; BlueHero, supporting the automotive industry’s shift to electrification through advanced polymer technologies.
The innovations previewed span a wide range of industries: from skincare and food packaging (including packaging made from ocean-recovered plastics), to electronics, electric mobility, construction, energy, and health and personal care. Strong interest was drawn to Sabic’s certified renewable materials, post-consumer chemical recycling technologies already available within the TruCircle portfolio, and its long-term outlook on the European materials industry. Sabic emphasised the importance of a collaborative, strategic approach to tackling sustainability and regulatory challenges. Some of the solutions shared are brand-new, while others are mature innovations already in practical use—all to be explored in depth at K 2025.
