Against any electrical shock

Francesco Franceschetti Elastomeri expands its offer of Marfran compounds with the introduction of the Marfran E CDT 1444 Black family dedicated to all those areas where it is essential to avoid the occurrence of electrical discharges (ESD). The polymeric materials, insulators by definition, tend to accumulate electrostatic charges on the surface and then discharge very high voltage arcs. The performance of this new family bring benefits that cross various sectors: electronics, packa¬ging, automotive, medical increasingly require a realization of materials that exclude the possibility that electrical discharge can damage integrated circuits, trigger explosions, cause unpleasant electric shock to users. This new family presents different degrees of conductivity depending on the application; low levels of conductivity allow the surfaces not to attract dust (automotive); higher levels of conductivity are instead targeted to solve problems of ESD (packaging, electronics, automotive and medical industry); the higher performance degrees are able to conduct signals of current and voltage for several meters. In addition, these compounds are particularly suited to interact with touch screens, creating a “bridge” between the user and the screen, allowing the user not to touch with fingers the surface of the device. Aesthetically, the products of this family have a good surface finish of black colour obtained with excellent processability (both in extrusion as well as in injection and micro moulding) also for articles of complex geometry. The compounds of the Marfran E CDT 1444 Black family are available in a wide range of hardness, from 50 to 60 ShA ShD. The internal laboratories of Francesco Franceschetti Elastomeri certify according to ISO 257, DIN IEC 60093, DIN 53482, VDE 0303 Part 30 norms the values of resistivity (or conductivity) of the compounds belonging to this new family.
